Rules for Steaming Laminate

• Use low or medium steam only. High steam produces excess moisture that can seep into edges and joints
• Keep the mop moving. Never hold the steam head in one spot for more than 2 to 3 seconds
• Vacuum first. Grit under the pad scratches laminate. Always vacuum or sweep before steaming
• Steam every 2 to 4 weeks max. Weekly steaming is too frequent for laminate. Use a dry mop between sessions
• Check for sealed edges. Run your finger along a board edge. If it feels smooth and sealed, steam is safe. If you feel rough, exposed MDF, avoid steam on that area
